NAVIGATING THIS SEASON!

 

A month ago today my plans, daily routine, and schedule changed. After 9 years of total entrepreneurship, I added a full-time job to my plate. The job was something I had been praying about and asking for. All my years as an entrepreneur I understand sometimes you need additional income to help sustain things while you’re building the idea, business, or ministry that God has given you vision for. 

Well God answered in the form of a position with a company I had been employed with before, and it was still in the beauty industry and education and would allow me some of the flexibility I needed to still build my Hair care business and other entrepreneurial ideas. 

It wasn't until having a conversation about all my aspirations and accepting this new role did the pressure and thought of Navigating this season got real at almost 2 weeks in!

My coworker asked " Wow, How are you Navigating all of this? It's been nearly a decade since you've worked for someone else. " My answer at the moment was " I don't know!" 

Since that conversation, the word Navigate stuck with me. One thing I will always do and I encourage you to do is seek Father God for answers, clarity, and deeper revelation. Especially when a word sits heavy with you, I encourage you to dig deep.

So I would like to share with you some guidance on how to Navigate this season or any season when you might start feeling like a ship without a sail, not sure which way you're going or how things will get done when you have a ton of things to do and plan, and it just seems like the load will way down your progress.

Let's start with the word "NAVIGATE"

*Warning I love to word study :) 

Navigate means to plan and direct the route, or the course of a ship or other forms of transportation. *(especially by using instructions or maps)*

Navigate can also mean to travel carefully or with difficulty.

Direct carefully & safely, to steer or manage, to sail over or through, and to get around and manage.

Whew... just the definition alone gave me deeper revelation into the season I am currently in, I began to recognize my life and my being as the ship or vessel or form of transportation that would need to be directed safely and carefully during this season and some days will be easy and some just might come with difficulty. But GOD will give me the ability to STEER & MANAGE the course.

I want to encourage you as you Navigate this time in your life that some instructions or maps are accessible to help you get around and move through whatever you may face. You can access those instructions through PRAYER & God’s WORD! THIS SEASON OF NAVIGATING WILL REQUIRE BOTH! This season will also require wisdom, trust, and obedience to what God reveals to you during your fellowship with him. 

How Am I Navigating this Season? Here is how.

  • Asking God to Guide Me
  • Asking God to Guard Me
  • Asking God for the ability and discipline to steward my responsibilities well.
  • Asking God for wisdom & using that wisdom in ALL my daily encounters.
  • Recognizing that it's in him(God) that I live, move, and have being(purpose).
  • Standing on God’s word.
  • Giving myself grace to be human and have a moment to get my thoughts together, but not being led by my emotions!

Lastly, here are a few scriptures I am using that you can build upon to help you navigate this season and any time you might feel overwhelmed by fear or even just doing something new. Many times I questioned "God is this it ?", what to do next or just show me you with me Father God sent me comfort directly from his word, and in my prayer and worship time.

  • ”The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”“Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV 
  • ”I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.“Psalms 32:8 NIV
  • ”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. “Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
  • ”For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. “Isaiah 41:13 NIV
  • ”Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.“Philippians 4:6-9 NIV
